Job Description

Job Title: Deputy Manager Instrumentation
Location: Kanpur
Industry: Chemicals (Leading MNC)

Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly skilled Deputy Manager Instrumentation to join our team at our Panki Kanpur facility. The role involves leading instrumentation and control activities ensuring statutory compliance preventive maintenance and supporting plant operations with best-in-class instrumentation practices. The position requires strong leadership technical expertise and hands-on experience in advanced PLC/DCS systems and field instrumentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team for instrumentation operations including budget planning monitoring and cost control.

  • Ensure statutory compliance and adherence to IMS documentation while developing new standards as required.

  • Plan schedule and execute Preventive Maintenance (PM) and calibration activities with timely closure in SAP.

  • Perform PLC/DCS programming and modifications including Siemens GE AB PLCs and Emerson DeltaV DCS/SIS.

  • Conduct proof tests of control systems (BPCS ESD SIS & other safety systems).

  • Manage local CAPEX execution related to instrumentation & control.

  • Ensure compliance with Functional Safety and Hazardous Area standards.

  • Troubleshoot and maintain field instruments and control systems including transmitters gauges valves analyzers and control panels.

  • Oversee instrumentation peripheral services (EPABX walkie talkie data loggers weighing systems etc.).

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system performance and participate actively in HAZOP LOPA SIL and safety exercises.

  • Execute all activities in compliance with site safety standards and work permit systems.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering Essential.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in instrumentation & control preferably in chemical/process industry.

  • Strong knowledge of HART-based instrumentation and parameter configuration.

  • Hands-on experience in process control calibration preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.

  • Expertise in PLC/DCS hardware/software safety systems (SIL/SIS) and instrumentation standards.

  • Working knowledge of E&I drawings GAD Hook-ups C&E Alarm & Trip schedules.

  • Familiarity with HAZOP LOPA and SIL studies Essential.

  • Strong team management analytical and problem-solving skills.
