Job Description

Overview and Responsibilities

The Workforce & Community Development Director works collaboratively across the College to identify and provide continuing education and training solutions throughout Chippewa Valley Technical Colleges (CVTC) 11-county district. This role plays a vital part in supporting regional economic development by aligning educational offerings with employer needs. Responsibilities include leading the development and execution of strategic marketing initiatives to promote services to business and industry fostering strong community partnerships and ensuring CVTC remains responsive to workforce trends and opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify training and educational needs of employers within a designated territory of CVTCs 11-county district.
  • Formulate and monitor budgets of contracts and continuing education offerings to comply with the departmental budget.
  • Conduct continuous needs assessment strategies to ensure product and service offerings are in alignment with employer needs technology advancements and industry trends.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of activities processes and procedures to guide continuous improvement efforts.
  • Provide excellent customer service and strategically engage with employers and internal stakeholders to maximize reach and achieve predetermined goals.
  • Evaluate and analyze data to measure efficacy of defined product outcomes and customer satisfaction in collaboration with CVTCs Institutional Research department.
  • Collaborate with recruitment and marketing colleagues to align prospective efforts and possible adult recruitment opportunities.
  • Act as a liaison for connecting the business and industry community to CVTC.
  • Serve as lead Salesforce representative for Workforce Solutions and collaborate with IT Department and Salesforce Development Representatives.
  • Provide all Salesforce Training for staff including the development and maintenance of training materials and documents along with new hires and new users of the system.
  • Promote excellence through continuous process improvement and the creative pursuit of new ideas partnerships and systems.
  • Business development responsibilities:
    • Establish mutually beneficial relationships with community partners such as Chambers of Commerce EDCs Mainstreet/Downtown/Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) City Councils County Board of Supervisors and other government representatives.
    • Identify on-going opportunities to engage the college with the communities it serves to increase understanding and support of the college.
    • Assist in seeking outside resources through grant acquisitions in collaboration with CVTC Foundation fundraising and Institutional Research & Grants.
    • Coordinate business solutions to include customized training technical assistance and professional development open enrollment offerings.
    • Evaluate impact of Workforce Solutions & Continuing Education services to customers through surveys and CVTC advisory committee members.
    • Develop maintain and grow relationships with employers in the district through face-to-face visits and electronic communications to identify and provide solutions for training and education to support Workforce needs of the region.
    • Maintain accurate reporting documentation within designated customer relationship management (CRM) system and monitor progress within the sales funnel.
    • Identify promote and execute grant opportunities to support employer training needs.
    • In collaboration with academic areas coordinate contracts delivery of services and overall management of approved grants.
  • Continuing education responsibilities:
    • Work in collaboration with Deans and Recruitment and Business Development Manager to research and implement an annual College-wide continuing education plan to include identification of product/service offerings and timeline.
    • Initiate and facilitate planning with Deans and Program Assistants to build a seminar and workshop calendar for each academic year.
    • Track enrollment budget data and other metrics for continuing education offerings.
    • Collaborate with department team members to build targeted marketing plan for continuing education offerings.
    • Identify evaluate establish and maintain agreements with third-party providers and partners.
    • Lead the planning and coordination of key Workforce Solutions and Continuing Education events includingLearn Grow Lead and Safety Day.
  • Community engagement responsibilities:
    • Develop and maintain community partnerships and alliances beneficial to the advancement of CVTCs mission.
    • Participate in community leadership activities as appropriate.
    • Serve as the liaison to the services and resources of CVTC.

  • Intermediate knowledge of and skills with technology including software programs for communication data collection and decision making including but not limited to Microsoft Office Outlook Word Excel and database management.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel (i.e. access to reliable transportation) to various locations as needed to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in business training and development or related field with a minimum of two years of experience in sales continuing education or related area preferred; or associates degree in business or related field with a minimum of six years of experience in sales continuing education or related area.
  • It is anticipated this position will work with area health systems and clinics; therefore experience working in a healthcare environment would be beneficial.
