Provide strategic and operational support to the Area Head Clinical Site Management (CSM) in developing aligning resourcing and executing functional operational and financial priorities ensuring alignment with overarching Clinical Development Operations Clinical Site Management and key stakeholder projects and strategies.
Responsibilities
- Provides leadership and develops strategic recommendations to departments to ensure all functional areas operate within the current Plan/Update budget. Resource Management: Strategic global clinical resource planning for current and planned trials identify potential HC shortfalls and surpluses and provide solutions and metrics
- Support Area Head with communicating and championing their leadership vision mission and objectives. Serve as a positive and visible role model for change - actively engages their assigned leadership team to build sponsorship of key initiatives; identify propose and track actions to ensure alignment with wider business initiatives. Actively support planning and execution of change management communications and events and track completion in dashboards.
- Drive teams initiatives aimed at optimizing efficiencies and identifying synergies across team as well as drive optimization of business processes aligned across CDO. Support consistency in TA and area processes (i.e. highlights dashboard metrics) working closely with Country Clinical Operations Managers TA Directors and Associate Directors.
- Partner with the Area and Global extended leadership teams on meetings with developing scope and agenda identifying contributors ensuring clear understanding of requirements and expectations and tracking progress key decisions and action items.
- May help drive identification and definition of teams KPIs/key metrics and ensure accurate and timely reporting to key business partners. As needed support communication of major initiatives and KPIs to senior leaders and other key stakeholders; May assist Leadership Team to highlight key variances to metrics and in identifying and managing the factors driving these variances.
- Harmonize team activities where relevant by identifying and promoting best practices within (and across) the therapeutic areas and driving adoption and utilization of existing tools and resources available for team.
- Support the team with the resourcing planning ensuring that goals are aligned. Act as operational resource for Leadership Team as structure and resources are being determined and allocated.
- Support with creation and maintenance of functional Resource Models validate models and ensure alignment across CSM as needed. Support with resource management and advise on strategy of future state based on demand for team.
- Lead or support identification and execution of team-specific onboarding and training initiatives to enhance general onboarding and to meet specific continuing role-based training needs identified during the planning processes in further support with CDO transformation and initiatives.
- Maintain metrics for teams hiring progress in line with strategy and where necessary propose potential mitigation actions to support TA Directors to address gaps against strategy.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor/Master of Science (BSc/MSc) or PhD in Science of Business-related Field
BSc with 10 yrs
MSc with 8 yrs
Ph.D. with 6 yrs
8 years of clinical operations experience is required. Experience in clinical site management is preferred. - Knowledge of standard business procedures including project management finance and budgeting.
Team drug development or project management related experience.
Advanced knowledge of standard business procedures including project management practices portfolio review finance and budgeting.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with broad business orientation.
Advanced operations management experience of 3-5 years in the pharmaceutical or health care industry. - Requires multi-faceted broad-based experience in several functions. Is considered to have in depth knowledge of operational business needs issues mitigation plans etc.
Operations experience with large budget and matrixed environment is preferred. - Self-starter with vision and initiative and the ability to work unsupervised towards the achievement of challenging goals.
- Sound judgment strong planning and organizational skills and the ability to get things done.
- Excellent communication networking tact and diplomacy and people skills. Experience in conflict- and problem-solving capabilities.
