Job Description
Job Opportunity: Psychiatrist in Muskegon MI
Join our dedicated Psychiatry team in Muskegon Michigan where we provide comprehensive care in a warm collaborative environment. Our Inpatient Psych Unit offers a unique opportunity for growth and teaching allowing you to thrive both professionally and personally.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric care for adult inpatients in a dedicated behavioral health unit.
- Perform initial psychiatric evaluations diagnose mental health conditions and manage treatment plans.
- Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications in coordination with the care team.
- Collaborate daily with a fully staffed multidisciplinary team including APPs RNs social workers case managers and other specialists.
- Participate in daily clinical rounds and contribute to patient-centered care discussions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record system.
- Work a consistent MondayFriday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with built-in flexibility based on provider needs.
- Share in weekend call coverage on a rotating 1:4 schedule.
- Engage in teaching and mentorship of medical students residents and fellows.
- Option to pursue additional interests such as research outpatient care or leadership roles.
Qualifications:
- Board Eligible (to become Board Certified within 2 years of becoming Board Eligible) - REQUIRED
- Valid Michigan medical license - REQUIRED at time of employment.
- DEA license - REQUIRED
- BLS Certification and maintain recertification - REQUIRED
- Open to experienced Board Certified providers and new graduates.
License and Certification Requirements:
- Valid Michigan medical license
- DEA license
- BLS Certification
- Physicians must be board certified in their specialty or board eligible and will become board certified within 2 years of becoming board eligible.
