Enthalpy Analytical is part of the larger organization Montrose Environmental Group is comprised of over 9 laboratories servicing air water and soil testing. Regulations drive the need for our services but our unique capabilities allow us to add value to clients beyond environmental compliance.
Our Orange CA laboratory is currently seeking an Full-Time Operations Manager to join our management team.
Pay: $90K - $115K
The Operations Manager serves as the on-site operational leader responsible for driving timely execution motivating teams and ensuring high-quality laboratory operations. Reporting to the Laboratory Director the Operations Manager oversees and manages daily activities drives continuous improvement and fosters a results-driven culture focused on achieving the required business objectives.
This position requires a confident proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced evolving environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate initiative resourcefulness and the ability to manage multiple priorities while influencing team performance and maintaining operational focus. The Operations Manager plays a key role in translating strategic vision into efficient timely action across all laboratory groups and is a 100% onsite position.
As a key member of the management team this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
Key Responsibilities
Immediate Priorities (First 612 Months)
Directly manage Wet Chemistry and SVOA groups ensuring scheduling workflow coordination and resource allocation meet client deadlines and production goals.
Respond quickly to operational gaps lead hands-on troubleshooting and support timely practical solutions.
Deliver consistent constructive performance managementincluding coaching conflict resolution and follow-upto stabilize high-need areas and strengthen team accountability.
Standardize protocols drive consistency in group operations and support rapid implementation of best practices.
Ongoing Responsibilities
Expand oversight across all laboratory groups leading execution of lab-wide operational processes continuous improvement projects and performance management systems.
Drive clarity speed and accountability by managing competing priorities delegating effectively and following through on commitments.
Facilitate implementation of strategic initiatives by translating direction from the Laboratory Director into targeted daily execution.
Identify and resolve inefficiencies across workflows manage timelines for method development and take initiative to innovate for improved results.
Collaborate with Quality Assurance to evaluate data integrity assess the effectiveness of corrective actions and ensure compliance.
Champion a culture of safety and continuous improvement in partnership with the Health & Safety Specialist.
Maintain open persuasive and results-oriented communication with staff peers and leadership to influence outcomes and align operations with organizational goals.
Manage budgets and scheduling for instrument maintenance and capital resources exploring cost-saving opportunities and alternate sourcing options.
YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLS
To perform this job successfully individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.
Bachelors degree in Chemistry Biology or a related scientific discipline.
Minimum 10 years of laboratory experience including at least 5 years in a leadership or supervisory role managing technical teams.
Strong knowledge of laboratory operations including Wet Chemistry and SVOA techniques with practical experience in method development and troubleshooting.
Proven ability to proactively lead performance management resolve staffing issues and foster team engagement and accountability.
Experience with driving process improvements under time-sensitive conditions.
Familiarity with quality assurance practices lab safety standards and operational compliance.
