Job Summary

GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
The Division of Global Health Equity (DGHE) at Brigham and Womens Hospital (BWH) fosters the support and coordination of training research and service to reduce disparities and improve health in the U.S. and abroad. The Division focuses on health problems that disproportionately affect vulnerable populations around the world and are of major importance to society.
Within DGHE Dr. Gene Bukhman leads a team focused on developing implementing and evaluating integrated care delivery models to address severe chronic non-communicable diseases and injuries (NCDIs) among populations living in extreme poverty. These severe NCDs include conditions such as type 1 diabetes rheumatic and congenital heart diseases and sickle cell disease. Dr. Bukhmans team works closely with an emerging NCDI Poverty Network () of low- and lower-middle-income countries (LLMICs) focused on implementing the recommendations of the Lancet NCDI Poverty Commission.
Dr. Bukhmans team at the DGHE also works in collaboration with practitioners and researchers based within the Program in Global NCDs and Social change at Harvard Medical Schools Department of Global Health and Social Medicine as well as with the NCD Synergies project at Partners In Health (in Boston and at sites in Africa and Haiti).

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Instructional Designer will work independently and under the direction of Dr. Emily Wroe (Director of Programs) and Dr. Marta Patino Rodriguez (Associate Director of Training and Education). The position will collaborate directly with NCD content experts and colleagues from the Global Health Delivery Partnership (Brigham and Womens Hospital Partners In Health Harvard Medical School).
Each tasks has a percentages assigned that will vary based on the needs of the e-learning activities.

The Instructional Designer (65%-70% total time)
Design and development of e-learning modules focused on advanced non-communicable disease (NCD) management and assessments including foundational and master training materials tailored for clinicians working at PEN-Plus clinics in rural health facilities as well as governments NGOs and other institutions managing NCDs
Design and develop additional materials such as future master training programs and supplementary e-learning modules
Maintain knowledge of the latest eLearning tools instructional design practices and industry trends to enhance course quality and effectiveness
As an LMS Administrator (25-30% total time)
Developing and managing online courses within the Moodle platform including uploading course content creating quizzes and setting up assessments
Assist the learners in accessing the platform troubleshoot technical issues and provide ongoing support to ensure successful course completion
Configuring and adjusting the Moodle platform with updates and best practices to meet program needs including proactively adapting the e-learning program for scalability to reach a large number of countries and trainees
Assisting the Monitoring and Evaluation team by providing e-learning indicators data and outcome reports
Maintaining effective collaboration with both the implementation and technical teams
Maintain dedicated time for researching Moodle features updates and best practices to support informed platform improvements that align with instructional goals and LMS administration needs
Other duties and Responsibilities (5-10% total time)
These specific duties will be defined in alignment with evolving organizational needs ensuring consistency with the employees job description and areas of expertise.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Experience in LMS administration and working with LMS administrators
- Prior experience working with low and middle income countries is not required but is a plus
- Demonstrated expertise in instructional design methodologies adult learning principles and multimedia development.
- Strong knowledge of instructional design software learning management systems and multimedia development tools.
- Familiarity with healthcare industry dynamics regulatory requirements and quality standards.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
