The UX Designer will be responsible for creating a positive and productive end user experience for TEA applications and websites and for maintaining a user-centric focus throughout product development.
TEA is seeking a senior UX Designer to help create solutions that improve education technology integration and enable parents teachers schools and district leaders to focus on what is most important -- their students. The UX Designer will play a critical role in ensuring the successful deployment of technology solutions by maintaining a strong user- centric focus and driving alignment with existing work in the field. They will work under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and use strong independent judgment.
UX Designers at TEA are responsible for:
Over seeeing UX/UI designs to ensure design decisions are grounded in user experience and adhere to agency-wide design standards and industry-wide best practices
Translating research into user stories requirements flows wireframes and prototypes and collaborating on the future product roadmap
Employing user testing and outreach to ensure products meets the needs of the end users in collaboration with partners
Partnering with the product team and other key stakeholders including senior leadership on design solutions and rationales; collaborating with internal and external teams of product designers developers and product managers
Minimum Yrs of exp Requirements:
8 Required Experience in software product development digital design UX/UI or a related field
8 Required Designing mockups and/or wireframes that conform to UX best practices
8 Required Experience conducting user and usability research
5 Required Demonstrated strong writing and organization skills
5 Required Demonstrated strong communication and facilitation skills
4 Required Direct experience leading large-scale UX/UI efforts
4 Required Documented experience developing wireframes mockups and prototypes in Figma or comparable design software
3 Required Experience ensuring designs and websites conform to federal accessibility guidelines
1 Required A portfolio of user research visual design and usability studies that demonstrates a high level of professionalism
3 Preferred Documented work experience with the issue tracking software Atlassian Jira
2 Preferred Documented experience working for or closely with TEA or another state or local education agency
