Program Summary
KBR leads the government services world contingency market by providing responsive full service logistics support to forces deployed around the world under the Logistics Civil Augmentation Program contract (LOGCAP). KBRs enduring mission support of the LOGCAP program dates back to 1992 when we served as the contracts original prime contractor. Job Summary
Join KBR a leader in delivering innovative solutions to the U.S. Government. We are seeking a dedicated Senior HSE Specialist to join our team and make a tangible difference. This role involves implementing and managing health safety and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and fostering a culture of safety within the organization. This position reports to the NORTHCOM HSE Manager.


Roles and Responsibilities
The candidate selected for this position will become an integral part of the LOGCAP HSE Team and will be expected to report to and assist the Project HSE Manager with the development and implementation of health safety and environmental policies procedures and guidelines for the employee and department safety.

  • Possesses a working knowledge of AR 385-10 (Army Safety Program) OSHA Federal Regulations
  • state and local legislation.
  • Leads and conducts incident investigations including root cause analysis.
  • Develop risk assessments for project tasks as required.
  • Audits HSE processes compliance within the project and provides guidance.
  • General working knowledge of EPA and Army environmental regulations is required.
  • Interacts with services personnel clients subcontractors and regulatory agencies to research and interpret standards codes and regulations within the chain of command.
  • Provide support and leadership to the team to achieve HSE objectives through the identification of critical high and medium risk processes and support the development and implementation of appropriate controls along with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supports the delivery and implementation of functional objectives by providing leadership and direction to team members.
  • Develop and maintain reporting requirements to ensure key HSSE information is shared within the business.
  • Ability to recognize and make recommendations to the business based on trends identified in key data and statistics. Develop and deliver training for zero harm and safety culture programs as well as procedural and legislative requirements.
  • Track and monitor key performance indicators related to HSE.
  • Ability to audit and follow up corrective actions on both internal customers project and subcontractors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Available to travel as needed

Basic Qualifications (Required Education Experience Skills and Certifications)

  • The candidate for this role MUST possess either (1) a bachelors degree in Safety or related discipline 5 years of HSE experience OR (2) In lieu of degree the candidate must possess a high school diploma 7 years of HSE experience.
  • Must have an in-depth knowledge of HSE programs policies procedures and processes.
  • Must have an in-depth knowledge of AR 385-10 (Army Safety Program) and OSHA Code of Federal Regulations and all state and local legislation.
  • Must have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to develop and improve processes.
  • Requires experience mentoring more junior team members.
  • Must be fluent in English (speaking reading and writing).
  • Must have effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in outdoors environment to include extreme cold and/or heat
  • Requires ability to climb ladders as well as walking and standing for extended periods
  • Must possess a valid drivers license
  • Must possess valid State Real ID


Preferred Qualifications (Preferred Education Experience Skills and Certifications)

  • Previous experience working in HSE role on U.S. military bases.
  • Previous experience involving wash rack operations
  • Previous experience with operations involving agricultural cleaning operations is a plus
  • Safety professional designations (BSCP OSHA NEBOSH etc.) a plus.
  • Experience working in austere environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of regulatory standards and industry best practices to include OSHA and Army Regulations.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing HSE programs and initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and statistical analysis skills.
  • Advanced HSE certifications or specialized training in areas such as incident investigation risk management or industrial hygiene.
  • Current First CPR AED training

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Basic Compensation: $82617.60 - $123926.40

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidates knowledge skills abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
