About the role
We are looking for lecturers to join our Social Work program in Sydney.
The Lecturer is primarily a teaching assessing and subject development role responsible for preparing and delivering subjects and assessing practice-oriented social work assessment tasks.

About you
We are looking for academics who are passionate about teaching and delivering an enriching learning experience. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to facilitate face-to-face as well as online learning.
You have good interpersonal and communication skills and are able to work in a team within a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure familiarity with subject content and delivery methods as per Ikons course documentation.
- Deliver and teach subjects utilising experiential and authentic learning materials and resources provided by Ikon.
Thorough preparation for teaching including review of all provided materials. - Contribute to the development and ongoing improvement of teaching materials and learning design.
- Teach and facilitate learning in an engaging and dynamic manner via on-campus and digital methodologies and the student learning system.
- Facilitate student engagement consultation and communication of student issues to relevant Ikon teams.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders to ensure smooth and cohesive delivery of subject content.
- Mark assess and provide feedback on all student assessments within specific timeframes (2 weeks from each assessment due date) utilising the online comparison and generative AI detection software provided by Ikon.
- Adhere to Ikons Academic Integrity and Misconduct policy procedures reporting and investigation requirements.
- Monitor student engagement and maintain attendance records.
- Participate in subject review moderation and benchmarking activities as required.
- Attend periodic school meetings subject meetings and student consultations as required.
- Complete and submit all trimester teaching and learning reporting requirements as determined by the Head of School Academic Programme Coordinator or Dean.
- Assist in ensuring that academic operations are conducted in accordance with the AQF ASWEAS ESOS and the National Code.
- Undertake and engage in scholarly practice and professional development as determined by the Head of School Academic Programme Coordinator or Dean.
- Adhere to Ikons guidelines policies and practices to achieve its performance objectives.
- Other general duties as determined by the Head of School Academic Programme Coordinator or Dean
Education Experience and Skills:
- Eligibility for AASW membership
- A postgraduate qualification in social work or a directly related discipline at least one AQF level above the course being taught or a qualification at the same AQF level with directly relevant professional experience assessed as equivalent under Ikons Academic Qualifications and Experience Policy (at least 5 years).
- A minimum of 3 years of social work practice experience.
- Knowledge of higher education requirements and AASW standards
- Knowledge of contemporary social work practice and developments demonstrated through practice continuing professional development scholarship and/or research.
- Knowledge of contemporary social work teaching learning and assessment; academic roles; modes of delivery; and the needs of student cohorts.
- Passion for social work education that prepares graduates with the knowledge skills and confidence to respond effectively to disadvantage and distress in society.
- Excellent communication interpersonal and group facilitation skills.
- Willingness to undergo a National Police and Working with Children check if required.
- Lecturing tutoring and/or subject development experience is desirable.
