Job Description

1 Month Contract with A Local Authority



Job Purpose

We are seeking an Experienced Social Worker to join our dynamic Fostering and Kinship Service. The role involves working with foster carers connected persons and special guardians to ensure safe and stable placements for children in care.

You will be a key part of a cohesive experienced and motivated team that supports both mainstream and family and friends foster placements. Your work will contribute directly to improving outcomes for vulnerable children and young people in Worcestershire.



Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and supervise Foster Carers including mainstream and connected carers

  • Complete Form F Connected Person Special Guardianship and Viability Assessments

  • Prepare assessments and reports for court proceedings in line with statutory timescales

  • Undertake Private Fostering Assessments

  • Provide ongoing support and training to foster carers

  • Work closely with childrens social workers and other professionals to ensure a joined-up approach to care planning

  • Maintain up-to-date high-quality case recordings and documentation

  • Ensure compliance with Fostering Regulations National Minimum Standards and relevant legislation


Requirements

  • A recognised professional qualification in Social Work

  • Social Work England registration

  • Post-qualifying experience in Children and Families services

  • Proven experience of completing assessments for Fostering and Connected Carers

  • Good understanding of the Fostering Regulations National Minimum Standards and Children Act 1989

  • Strong assessment report writing and communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
