Job Description

3 months contract with local authority


We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our Children with Disabilities Team (CwD) as a Team Manager. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing services to Children Looked After Children in Need (CIN) Child Protection (CP) and cases in court. Your expertise in children in need Child Protection including children looked after combined with a deep understanding of legislation and experience in managing a CWD team will be essential for this role. As a part of the management team you will lead a period of change and improvement to enhance outcomes for children and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a period of change and improvement within the team
  • Develop and improve services for children with disabilities
  • Supervise qualified / qualifying social workers
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation
  • Work within a multi-agency context
  • Practice anti-oppressive and anti-discriminatory principles


Requirements


  • At least 4 years post-qualifying experience in a children s services statutory setting
  • Commitment and passion to develop and improve services for children with disabilities
  • Exceptional management and leadership skills
  • Experience of supervising qualified / qualifying social workers
  • Excellent understanding and experience of relevant legislation
  • Knowledge of working within a multi-agency context
  • Commitment to anti-oppressive and anti-discriminatory practice


Requirements: Proven experience in quality assurance and reviewing services for children and young people Strong understanding of statutory and regulatory safeguarding requirements Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Commitment to championing the rights and well-being of children and young people
