Primary Function: Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Day Program in Wayne
Supervisory Responsibilities when applicable
- Provides direct supervision to assigned staff in order to enhance their technical skills sets leadership qualities ad administrative functions
- Provides on-going support to staff to ensure completion of job responsibilities
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the agencys policies applicable laws and governmental regulatory agencies
- Reviews staff responsibilities to determine time frame and scope of authority reviews staffing requirements and allotments of available resources
- Evaluates staff productivity and documentation of service delivery
- Congers with staff to provide technical advice and to resolve problems
- Responsibilities include training new employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Essential Functions include:
- Work with Program Coordinator to establish measureable objectives and strategies to ensure each persons program is based around their individual service plan (ISP) outcomes
- Develop and ensure your site staff consistently implement strategies set forth in the individual service plan
- Responsible for supervision and training of staff at the site
- Ensure that all DDD and Friendship House policy and procedures are followed consistently
- Provide oversite and final approval of structured and meaningful program activity schedule(s) per week. Offer ideas or training materials for implementation if needed.
- Prepare for and lead member groups to facilitate positive outcomes as needed
- Teach/reinforce proper implementation of ISP strategies
- Update and maintain the At a Glance Book for your site. Ensure all staff are made aware of any strategy changes
- Ensure that staff/member ratios are maintained at all times in the community
- Ensure that the trip log is utilized consistently by all staff when out in the community and all prescribed medications are available both on site and in the community.
- Maintain good working relationships with family members Support Coordinators transportation providers and other community resources ie: internship placements local businesses etc.
- Oversight of daily documentation on each member and ensure documentation is meaningful and related to their ISP outcomes
- Notify Program Coordinator/Behaviorist of any change in member behaviors concerns or progress
- Schedule monthly staff meetings
- Attend and participate in supervisor meetings with Executive Director of Day and Community Services
- Coordinate with the facility to remain up-to-date on emergency procedures and train your staff accordingly
- Maintain petty cash account including weekly reconciliations
- Communicate with finance department to ensure that staff hours are appropriately recorded
- Work with Program Coordinator/Behaviorist on annual progress reports for each member
- Maintain supply inventory and order replenishments as needed
- Oversee that all program members records and medications are kept in a secure cabinet.
- Drive up to a 15 passenger van to and from community activities as needed
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Day and Community Services or Program Coordinator/Behaviorist
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college in Human Services or related field and one (1) year experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders
- Three (3) years of experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders may be substituted for Bachelors degree
- Minimum Three (3) years supervisory experience
- Valid drivers license with clean record.
- Minimum 21 years of age
