Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

Site Manager Cameroon (Ntui based) – Ag-Tech

Position Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled and proactive Site Manager to oversee and manage all operations at our Cacao Fermentation Center in Ntui Cameroon. As a research and development center the position of Site Manager requires a unique combination of creativity and curiosity on the one hand and operational rigor and commercial efficiency on the other.

This role requires strong leadership problem-solving abilities and financial oversight to deliver clear data driven results within local and international standards.

The Site Manager will play a critical role in coordinating with farmers production teams and local authorities while also presenting Ntui as a global hub for our visitors. The candidate must be comfortable managing multiple stakeholders and driving operational excellence.

This is a site-based position requiring full-time relocation to Ntui. Company is a start-up and we seek a hands-on leader unafraid of tackling challenges directly.

Key Responsibilities:

Overall: Ensure that the company facility acts as a beacon showcasing and highlighting the potential of 'Source Fermented Cacao' to the global cocoa industry.

Team Leadership & Coordination:

1. Foster a strong team culture providing leadership mentorship and skill development in a complex environment.

2. Work closely with global team to align commercial and research targets objectives and outcomes in support of the overall business strategy.

3. Lead and manage local stakeholder relationships to ensure community support business continuity and a safe operating environment.

4. Supervise on-site teams ensuring task delegation and efficient performance management.

5. Work closely with farmers to improve process flow engagement and quality assurance.

6. Coordinate logistics and supply chain activities including raw material procurement and inventory management.

Operations & Production Management:

1. Ensure that management practices are driven by data with a strong focus on the quality and validity of operational and performance data as the foundation for creating and assessing strategic actions.

2. Ensure that SOPs are consistently followed and updated based on new insights and global best practices allowing testing and experimentation plus standard operations are performed at the highest possible standard.

3. Oversee and manage all activities related to cacao fermentation processing and production efficiency.

4. Ensure proper planning and execution of production schedules to meet company objectives.

5. Optimize throughput demand planning and tight cost control to maximize efficiency.

6. Monitor and improve fermentation processes to maintain the highest quality standards.

7. Ensure all equipment and facilities are maintained and operational with minimal downtime.

8. Implement and enforce hygiene and sanitation protocols in compliance with food safety standards.

Financial & Administrative Oversight:

1. Serve as part of the global management team to develop annual plans for the facility.

2. Manage financial activities including budget control cost management and reporting to senior management.

3. Conduct P&L reporting ensure financial transparency and track expenditures.

4. Coordinate administrative functions including liaising with local authorities municipalities and regulatory bodies.

5. Handle compliance and documentation requirements for local and international operations.

Stakeholder Engagement & Global Representation:

1. Represent company GmbH in interactions with visitors investors and international stakeholders.

4. Develop and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders and industry partners.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Agriculture Business Management Supply Chain or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in factory/production management agricultural processing or related fields in tropical environments.

Proven experience in financial oversight cost control and administrative management.

Strong leadership and problem-solving skills capable of handling high-pressure situations effectively.

Familiarity with food safety regulations quality assurance principles and traceability in agricultural production.

Ability to liaise with government bodies regulatory authorities and local municipalities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse stakeholders including farmers team members and international visitors.

Fluent English is required; proficiency in French (speaking understanding and conversational communication) is necessary.

Experience working in multicultural environments and knowledge of the Cameroonian agricultural landscape is a plus.

Willingness to reside full-time in Ntui Cameroon with occasional travel as needed.

Salary Range: 800000 –CFA/month
