The Lean Management Engineer is responsible for leading performance improvement initiatives that create operational efficiency throughout the organization. This roles primary focus is to support labor management processes through workforce analysis and productivity monitoring. Working under general supervision the Lean Management Engineer supports problem solving across the health system driving operational effectiveness within the areas of quality cost and service.
Responsibilities
Supports the organizations labor management processes by developing work measurement standards and workforce assessments identifying labor improvement opportunities and partnering with stakeholders on tactics to meet productivity goals. Facilitates multiple continuous improvement efforts and applies a variety of improvement methodologies (including lean and six sigma) and group management techniques to support individuals and teams through process improvement initiatives. Works collaboratively with leadership to increase efficiencies decrease costs reduce variability reduce errors/defects and involve all appropriate personnel. Supports existing balanced scorecard program and assists in the development of performance measures target methodologies and thresholds and ensures accuracy of measure results. Provides needed continuous improvement training and education and works closely with other Lean team members to meet education needs at all levels throughout the health system. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelors Degree Industrial Engineering or related field such as Management Engineering or Operations Research
EXPERIENCE:
Required: 2 years of related work experience
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required: Lean or Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
