Behaviour Mentor Wandsworth September 2025 Start

Location: Wandsworth South West London
Contract: Permanent Term Time Only (39 weeks)
Hours: 08:3015:45 Monday to Friday (35 hours per week)
Pay: 22444 per annum (Pro Rata) Inner London
Start Date: September 2025 or as soon as possible

A vibrant SEMH secondary school in Wandsworth is looking to appoint a full-time Behaviour Mentor to join their skilled pastoral team. This Behaviour Mentor role is perfect for someone who is confident resilient and enthusiastic about building positive relationships with young people who need extra support managing their behaviour and emotions.

As a Behaviour Mentor youll support students aged 1116 many of whom have social emotional and mental health needs. Youll work alongside teachers and therapists to help students regulate behaviour re-engage with learning and build trust within the school environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Delivering behaviour and wellbeing support strategies throughout the school day
  • Leading de-escalation and regulation activities during periods of dysregulation
  • Mentoring students through restorative conversations and daily check-ins
  • Supporting teachers with classroom routines and transitions
  • Contributing to behaviour plans and positive handling protocols (training provided)

Were looking for:

  • Experience working with young people in education youth work or mental health settings
  • Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills
  • A patient proactive and emotionally intelligent approach
