This position is reserved for Federal Work Study (FWS) Students only.
The Social Media Intern is responsible for creating engaging content & executing digital strategies to enhance Waco Habitat for Humanity & ReStores presence on various social media platforms. This position focuses on increasing community engagement promoting events and raising awareness about WHFHs mission and activities through targeted social media outreach.
- In a student employee capacity may assist in working with external community service partners.
- This is a off-campus position and reliable transportation is important.
- Bi-lingual is preferred but not required.
Job Description:
- Work with local organization(s) or community partners
- Basic Canva skills are preferred and must be comfortable with website updates & media publishing.
- Must have good knowledge of major social media platforms and content creation tools excellent writing editing & communication skills.
- Help plan & execute social media campaigns for fundraising events and community outreach as well as track analytics & engagement metrics to access campaign effectiveness & suggest improvements.
- Develop & schedule creative content including graphics videos & stories to promote Waco Habitats work.
- Will need to assist the Director of Homeowner Services Director of Development and Director of ReStore Operations in managing and updating social media platforms.
- Provide excellent customer service as a representative of the University
- May assist with planning organizing and implementing community services or programs
- May assist with various projects activities or tasks related to community projects
- May contribute to developing and maintaining good relationships with internal and external partners
- May serve as a source to provide information about resources and assistance related to community program(s) or service(s)
- May serve to enhance outreach for the greater Waco community
- Ensure confidentiality of all pertinent information
- May prepare and present information in a group or workshop setting
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylors mission
- Ability to comply with University policies
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
