We are searching for an Immigration Specialist to join our Immigration Team. This position can be based out ofNova Scotia or New Brunswick.

About the Opportunity

  • Meet with newcomer employees to collect documentation review their case and provide support
  • Participate in the assessment and determination of immigration pathway for newcomer employees
  • Prepare immigration application forms and submit to government authorities for processing
  • Liaise with newcomer employees regarding status of applications
  • Follow-up with government authorities regarding status of applications
  • Working with the immigration team develop procedures to streamline the intake assessment case management and submission process for immigration applications
  • Advise the recruitment team on recruiting issues for foreign workers
  • Support operational leaders in relation to newcomer orientation settlement information and settlement services
  • Provide education and training for members of the organization on employer immigration compliance issues settlement supports and diversity and inclusion in the workplace
  • Manage calendar of events related to immigration services such as multi-cultural community events and industry events focusing on immigration culture and settlement

About You

In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement collaboration and accountability you bring:

  • Registered Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) with active membership.
  • A post-secondary education with a concentration in Human Resources or a related subject
  • 2-3 years of immigration experience working in a legal government and/or settlement organization.
  • Excellent organizational skills and accuracy for processing sensitive information and have the ability to manage multiple tasks in large volume in a fast-paced environment.
  • Travel within Nova Scotia and travel to New Brunswick and Ontario may be required.
  • A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations services and care.
