Job Description
As a Network Administrator youll be responsible for maintaining and administering computer networks and related environments. Youll provide hands-on and remote help-desk support troubleshoot network issues and perform upgrades and installations as needed. Collaboration with IT teams ensures seamless software and system operation aligning with business objectives. Your technical expertise will shine as you document network infrastructure ensure security compliance and manage vendor relationships.
Position is on-site but this role involves travel to remote sites for installations or troubleshooting.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including systems software applications software hardware and configurations.
- Perform hands-on and remote help-desk duties for clients such as troubleshooting desktops printers cables cameras and any other tasks assigned.
- Perform network infrastructure upgrades installations and configurations as needed.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network problems.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
- Provide technical support to end-users and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Document network infrastructure and keep network diagrams up to date.
- Ensure network security and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with external service providers when necessary.
- Travel to remote sites for network installations or troubleshooting purposes
- Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Job may require extended sitting or standing use of standard office equipment
- Job requires the ability to use vision adjust focus and work on a standard computer screen
- Use of audio-visual equipment is required
- Talking hearing and using hands to operate computer equipment
- Job may require working from the assigned worksite

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Understanding of all aspects of design and implementation of corporate networking and systems infrastructure including VPN SDWAN network connectivity Internet access email servers etc .
- Demonstrated proficiency with LAN switches including VLANs segmentation.
- Wireless Access Points and wireless security protocols such as EAP with RADIUS
- Able to troubleshoot network issues from network connectivity routing and firewall issues through DNS and higher-level protocols.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service-oriented approach.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with infrastructure components such as servers storage systems and virtualization technologies is preferred.
- Microsoft Windows operating systems
- Proficient with backup and restore technologies and best practices.
- Job may require extended sitting or standing use of standard office equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors degree in Network Administration Computer Science Information Technology or related field.
- Proven experience working as a Network Administrator or in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of networking protocols and technologies including TCP/IP DNS DHCP VLANs routing switching and firewalls.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with infrastructure components such as servers storage systems and virtualization technologies.
- Fortinet experience a plus
- Ekahau or similar wireless design a plus
- Experience configuring Layer 2 and layer 3 networking with 802.1q (VLANs) 802.1af/at (PoE) 802.1d (STP) BGP OSPF LACP
PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION
- CWNA CWS CWT CWDP a plus
- CCNA a plus
- Certification may be required in some areas.
