Manager People Culture & Wellbeing
The Shire of Carnarvon is seeking expressions of interest for an experienced and motivated People & Payroll Officer to join our team on an 8-month maternity leave contract with the potential for extension. We welcome applications from individuals interested in full-time part-time casual or job-share arrangements.
This is a great opportunity to contribute to a values-driven organisation that plays a key role in delivering services to the local community. As part of our People & Culture team you will support critical functions across payroll recruitment training and generalist human resources.
This role is responsible for end-to-end payroll processing and will also provide support across a range of People & Culture functions including:
Accurate and timely payroll processing and reconciliations
Supporting recruitment processes from advertising through to onboarding
Supporting internal and external training planning
Providing general HR and administrative support to staff and managers
Work Health & Safety administrative support
Providing general HR and administrative support to staff and managers
We are looking for someone who brings:
Demonstrated experience in payroll processing preferably using HRIS or payroll systems
Strong understanding of HR administrative functions with experience in recruitment or training coordination highly regarded
High attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
Well-developed communication and problem-solving skills
A positive collaborative and service-oriented approach
Previous experience in local government or a regulated environment is desirable but not essential.
