Job Description

The Test Environment and Release Manager is responsible for the end-to-end planning coordination and execution of code configuration and infrastructure releases within the Rest Super (Rest) organisation. This also includes overseeing third-party vendor integrations where Rest has significant dependencies on vendors like MUFG TAL and KPMG amongst others for Environment delivery (commissioning Support and maintenance)  as well as Code and Configuration Release Management. Additionally the manager is responsible for the coordination and management of Code Deployments and subsequent configuration and management of the Integrated Non-Production test environments that support development testing and deployment activities.

This role demands close collaboration with both Rests internal Technology Operations Support and Business teams as well as  collaboration and management of external vendor teams to ensure adherence to best practices in Configuration and Release Management as well as Environment Management.

A key responsibility of this role is to establish and maintain a governance framework for configuration deployment and release management.

The role also involves monitoring and providing regular reports on the health of non-production environments as well as managing the regular environment refresh cadence.


Qualifications :

  • ITIL Framework Knowledge: In-depth understanding of ITIL practices particularly Release Management Change Management and Service Transition.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and relevant tools (e.g. Jenkins Git Jira).

Required experience understanding or credentials including:

  • Demonstrated experience in IT release management environment management or a related role.
  • ITIL v3 or v4 certification is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices is a plus.
  • Strong experience in stakeholder and Third-Party Vendor management
  • Effective negotiation skills to manage environment contentions and coordinate across multiple programs.
  • In-depth knowledge of ITIL processes particularly in Incident Change Management and Problem Management.
  • Proficiency in using ServiceNow (SNOW) for day-to-day environment management.
  • Skilled in utilizing monitoring solutions such as DataDog AppDynamics Splunk and automation utilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills within the DevOps CI/CD ecosystem.
