Job Description

To support the People Business Partner and Head of People in building the management capability to meet business KPIs/objectives across Mauritius. Providing a high-quality HR and development service to internal customers supporting management to manage employee relations issues recruit retain and develop an engaged team with the necessary skills and knowledge to meet the needs of the business.

Main Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

Employee Relations

  • To act as the first point of contact for all HR related queries across the full spectrum of employee lifecycle.
  • Acting as a point of contact for employees to address their concerns resolve conflicts and ensure a positive work environment.
  • Managing employee relations cases recruitment advising and coaching managers on best practice.
  • To provide first line support development and guidance to Line Managers in relation to the performance management process and assist in meetings where appropriate.
  • Be accountable to track the P&C KPIs and report on same.
  • Pro-actively promoting employee recognition and reward initiatives.
  • In line with company policy and procedure attend disciplinary and grievances meetings.
  • Consult with employees/management as appropriate in redundancy/re-deployment situations arising from attrition and restructures carrying out the required accompanying documentation and file preparation.
  • Work in partnership with the Compensation and Benefits Lead on benefits implementation.
  • Assisting and supporting the on-site management team with the implementation of a high-performance employee culture implementing performance improvement plans where needed.
  • Assisting the HRBP with the talent management process to ensure effective development plans are in place where necessary.
  • Supporting with the communication and implementation of any HR initiatives as required.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Proactively supporting HR processes to ensure the highest compliance in all people areas.
  • Undertake Project work including documentation risk register and track progress.
  • Support business and employee to understand legal parameters impact and risk
  • Support and develop the People Administrator to manage HR admin.

Qualifications :

  • A recognised degree and professional affiliation (CIPD/SHRM)
  • Well versed on employment laws and other employment related legislation
  • Proven experience as an HR generalist
  • Specific experience with Employee Relations including investigation
  • Proficient with Microsoft tools and extensive knowledge of using international HRIS
  • Possess data acumen project management
  • Basic training and coaching skills desirable.
  • Digitally savvy excellent communication skills
  • Able to design report dashboard and trend
