- Monday-Friday 9AM-6PM EST WITH 1 HOUR UNPAID BREAK (8 Hours per day)
Role Overview
Were seeking an experienced Property Management Assistant to join our team and play a crucial role in managing our apartment building portfolio. This position offers the perfect blend of tenant relations administrative excellence and business development opportunities. Youll be responsible for the full spectrum of property management activities from tenant coordination and lease underwriting to compliance management and administrative support. This role is ideal for a real estate professional who thrives in a dynamic environment enjoys direct client interaction and wants to contribute to a growing business. As we expand theres potential to grow into additional responsibilities including business development and deal sourcing activities.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate all tenant maintenance requests and dispatch repair services efficiently
- Conduct comprehensive lease underwriting by analyzing potential tenants financial documents credit scores and rental history
- Manage compliance activities including scheduling meetings with city officials architects and zoning departments
- Handle all administrative tasks including contract preparation document management and correspondence
- Provide exceptional customer service through phone email and text communication with tenants
- Coordinate repair services manage invoices and ensure timely follow-up on all maintenance issues
- Process lease agreements and maintain accurate property-related documentation
- Respond promptly to urgent matters during business hours and occasional weekend emergencies
- Potential opportunity to expand into cold calling and deal sourcing activities for business development
Requirements
- Prior experience in real estate property management is required
- Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service background with a personable professional demeanor
- Demonstrated ability to think independently and process complex information beyond basic task completion
- Comfortable making phone calls and managing direct tenant relationships
- Available during core business hours (8am-7pm) with flexibility for urgent matters
- Willing to provide occasional weekend availability (1-3 hours per month)
- Experience with lease underwriting and tenant screening processes preferred
- Sales background is a plus for potential business development responsibilities
- Self-motivated professional who can work independently while maintaining high standards
