The Mass General Brigham Medical Group is a system-led operating entity formed by Mass General Brigham to deliver high-quality low-cost innovative community-based ambulatory care. Our Float Pool team is a group of employees who are specially trained and readily available to seamlessly assimilate and stabilize clinical operations within our practices. We cover gaps due to unexpected call outs long-term leaves planned vacations staffing vacancies etc. This is a unique opportunity to work autonomously to the top of your education/certification while also functioning as part of a collaborative team.
Job Summary
We are seeking per diem Medical Assistants to pick up shifts Monday through Friday but we can be flexible on exact days based on employee availability. In this role you would be expected to cover various practices across the Pioneer Valley. Towns/cities include:
Amherst
Belchertown
Florence
Greenfield
Hadley
Northampton
South Deerfield
West Hatfield
Williamsburg
We do our best to keep all employees with their preferred geographic regions/specialty areas; however float pool employees must be able and willing to commute to any of our locations during orientation (for training/precepting purposes) or during times of fluctuating staffing shortages (for cross-coverage purposes).
Our Medical Assistants partner with and work alongside a physician or advanced practice provider. Responsibilities include:
Ensuring efficient patient flow through the office
Assisting during office visits (rooming examinations point of care testing immunizations procedures and treatments as directed)
Performing clinically appropriate tasks related patient panel management (phone triage test results prescription refill coordination of care etc.)
Maintaining neat clean and safe patient care areas
Interacting with patients and their families in a professional friendly manner consistent with their needs.

Basic Life Support BLS Certification - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred Certified Medical Assistant - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred
Experience
Direct MA experience or medical field work 0-1 year preferred

- Comply with all local state and federal privacy and confidentiality rules and regulations.
- Ability to take vital signs and manual blood pressure as well as collect blood samples and other specimens.
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology procedures and protocols.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical office software.
- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Managing ones own time and the time of others.
