Job Description

We areaccepting applications fora supervisor for our Aftercare program.

The Aftercare Supervisor is a 10-month full time position that supervises the aftercare program and supports during the school day supervising students during lunch and recess. The ideal candidate has previous experience working directly with students and supervising a program for children.

Key Responsibilities:

Aftercare Supervision

  • Plans engaging activities for students to do during aftercare that are differentiated for the age of students.
  • Oversees enrollment for the aftercare program.
  • Works with families and the business manager to ensure payments are made in a timely manner.
  • Supervises students during the aftercare program.
  • Supervises one staff member that supports during the aftercare program.
  • Ensures the safety of students and staff during aftercare at all times.
  • Closes gates to ensure the building is securely locked at the end of each day.

Lunch & Recess Supervision

  • Reports to cafeteria and recess areas throughout the school day as assigned by the Dean of Students.
  • Ensures all students are served lunch and have adequate time to eat
  • Maintains order and solve problems with students as necessary.
  • Supervises a station where students play during recess by engaging with the students reviewing rules and maintaining order.
  • Ensures the safety of students under their supervision at all times.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • High school diploma required Associates or Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Previous experience supervising a care or preschool program preferred.
  • Experience working with children in a school setting or care program.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with children and their families.
  • Ability to maintain order when supervising children.
  • Strong sense of responsibility.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
