Consumer Credit Legal Service (WA) Inc(CCLS) Working for your financial and consumer rights
- CCLS champions the financial rights of West Australians regarding credit debt and consumer law issues.
- We provide free confidential legal advice to consumers in Western Australia through our Telephone Advice Line.
- We provide ongoing legal representation to people experiencing vulnerability and disadvantage through internal and external dispute resolution processes.
- Our community legal education programs empower West Australians to understand their consumer and financial rights and avoid financial pitfalls.
- We help other community service providers including financial counsellors and community support workers to understand and support their clients.
- We contribute to law reform and policy campaigns and consultations providing a voice for West Australian consumers advocating for fair financial systems and consumer laws.
What youll bring
- Proven experience in administration or communications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a creative flair.
- Confidence using digital tools.
- A collaborative and self-driven attitude.
- An understanding of inclusive practices and the value of lived experience in service delivery.
- Interest or experience in the legal not-for-profit or community services sector is highly regarded.
Compensation & Benefits
- This position is flexible offering up to four days per week with negotiable hours.
- You will be based in our Perth office and will receive a salary dependent on experience plus super salary packaging and additional paid Christmas shutdown leave.
What youll do
- Coordinate meetings maintain internal systems and records assist with policy documentation and support reporting and stakeholder engagement.
- Develop and implement communication plans manage the website and social media channels produce key publications and coordinate newsletters and impact stories.
- Plan and coordinate the delivery of Community Legal Education (CLE) initiatives develop educational resources and support collaboration with legal and policy teams.
- Contribute to the implementation of the Reconciliation Action Plan and promote inclusive service delivery.
- Foster a values-based trauma-informed and collaborative work environment engaging purposefully with internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Criteria
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Demonstrated experience in administrative or communications roles.
- Proficiency with digital tools including Microsoft 365 and social media platforms.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Experience in simple design or content production (e.g. Canva Mailchimp).
