Job Description

About the Role:

Overview

Portfolio Managers at all levels are responsible for managing a variety of items within client services at OSTTRA.

The type of items that the team will manage include:

  • Portfolios

    • Ongoing status of interactions with business lines at key customers such as GCIBs or large buy-sides or partners such as other participants within the finance ecosystem such as clearing houses. The interactions may be in progress or yet to begin implementation projects or ongoing issues or tickets raised with other client services teams

  • Multi-stakeholder Projects

    • Projects involving stakeholders across OSTTRA but spearheaded within client services. This includes large scale implementation projects involving multiple client services resources or implementation projects owned by client services requiring ongoing input by functions such as technology

  • Initiatives

    • Reporting on behalf of client services on new initiatives that involve implementation. This may be a new business line or service that requires a significant number of smaller implementation projects testing and post go-live support

Responsibilities

  • For the above type of portfolio or initiative the following responsibilities exist:

    • Act as the primary communicator internally and externally on the status of portfolios and initiatives with stakeholders at senior levels

    • Create the appropriate reporting and tracking both internally and externally for the portfolio and initiatives

    • Oversee the progress of activities on these portfolios ensuring items are delivered on time or delays are resolved and/or escalated

    • Utilize regular internal meetings to gather updates and address issues

    • Coordinate across functions including technology product sales customer success and all functions with client services

  • Additional knowledge

    • Develop and demonstrate a sound knowledge of the initiatives or portfolios through either business & product knowledge an understanding of the customers business or an understanding of the underlying processes involved in the implementation

  • In person engagement

    • For all portfolios & initiatives there is a desire to match up managers with customers and teams based locally. Where this is possible there is an expectation that the individual meets the team and customer locally in person on a regular basis

  • Approach

    • Demonstrate a positive customer experience during initiatives and portfolios

    • Be responsive collaborative and engaged with teams assigned to each initiatives or portfolio

    • Effectively manage time so that tasks are completed by the expected due date

Requirements

  • Strong day-to-day customer communication skills and stakeholder management

  • Capability to effectively manage large portfolios of work and initiatives risks & issues and stakeholders

  • Demonstrate strong accountability and ownership of risks & issues and tasks associated with a project

  • A sound understanding of technology including confluence jira and google workspace

  • Work effectively as part of a team

  • Desire to grow ones own knowledge and assist others in the team in developing their knowledge and expertise

  • Process-oriented with excellent organisational skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
