SUMMARY: Provide leadership and supervision over the Districts before/after school programs and the facilitation of seasonal camps. Guide and problem-solving with staff located at different sites; mentoring staff and monitoring work flow; developing and coordinating program promotions and special offers; preparing and assisting with the activity planning; securing substitutes for staff absences; participating in the recruitment and selection process; and assessing professional development needs and collaborating with others to provide training. Supervise paraprofessional and support staff including conducting performance evaluations coordinating training and implementing hiring discipline and termination procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises the Districts before/after school programs and seasonl camps ensuring smooth and effective operations and the adherence with applicable health safety and licensing rules and regulations; maintains confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Provides daily guidance and problem-solving support to staff; assists in the development and dissemination of bulletins; provides guidance in the maintenance of student records and materials; evaluates processes and recommends and implements improvement plans.
- Develops and coordinates promotions of program offerings to the community and District personnel.
- Develops and assists with activity planning; secures substitutes for coverage of staff absences within programs.
- Supervises staff including conducting performance evaluations coordinating training and implementing hiring discipline and termination procedures.
- Establish and maintain good rapport with students employees community members and vendors.
- Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Director Qualified. Qualified candidates must be 21 years of age or older and must provide documentation of one of the following:
- Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood child development or a closely-related field AND At least three (3) months of child care experience
OR
- Associate degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood child development or a closely-related field ANDAt least six (6) months of child care experience
OR
- A.C. C.D.A. or C.C.P. credential ANDAt least eighteen (18) months of child care experience
OR
- Twenty-four (24) credit hours from an accredited college or university including at least six (6) credit hours in early childhood child development
OR
- High school or high school equivalency diploma (GED) ANDAt least twenty-four (24) months of child care experience ANDSix (6) credit hours or more in early childhood child development or a closely-related field from an accredited college or university
OR
- Sixty (60) actual hours of instruction provided in conferences seminars lectures or workshops in early childhood child development or a closely-related field ANDAdditional twelve (12) hours of instruction provided in conferences seminars lectures or workshops in the area of program administration planning development or management
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Demonstrated competency in Word and Excel.
LICENSING/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Valid CPR/First Aid certification
- Valid Food Handler Card
- Provide negative tuberculosis skin test results
- Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC)

ADA AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class typically require: reaching standing walking fingering grasping talking hearing seeing and repetitive motions.
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Working Conditions:
Work is routinely performed in an indoor office environment.
