Learning facilitators are collaborative partners who use student-centered coaching to drive meaningful learning. By focusing on student outcomes they co-plan and co-teach with educators using essential standards data and formative data to guide the work. Their work builds a culture of trust and continuous growth - ensuring all students succeed.

The individual in the position will support tier I instruction. We utilize the Student-Centered Coaching framework to engage in coaching cycles across all content. Training will be provided.

Qualifications Required:

  1. Washington State Teachers Certificate Endorsement insecondary Education
  2. Must have or obtain EL/ESL or Bilingual Education endorsement within the first two years in position. Endorsement tuition fees will be paid by the district.
  3. Satisfactory evaluations
  4. Evidence of positively working with team members classroom teachers paraeducators and all other school staff.
  5. Evidence of recent successful experience working with at-risk students including multi-language learners migrant students and children in poverty.
  6. Demonstrated knowledge of effective teaching strategies for creating a language-rich rigorous classroom environment.

Qualifications Preferred:

Student Centered Coaching

  1. Experience partnering with teachers with the development of lesson plans to improve student achievement.
  2. Experience in co-teaching co-planning and/or peer coaching
  3. Evidence of successful experience of planning for and implementation classroom instruction.
  4. Demonstrated ability to utilize technology to support and enhance instruction and learning.
  5. Ability to work with paraeducators in program curricula instructional strategies and small group classroom management.

Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MMTS)

  1. Successful experience working with students who need additional support.
  2. Evidence of successful experience collaborating with staff to meet the varied needs of students in an MTSS system.
  3. Knowledge with planning and delivering instruction around various forms of data: academic behavior demographic and attendance.
  4. Familiarity with Universal Design for Learning (UDL).

Language Development

  1. Successful experience working with Multilingual Learners (MLs) as well as students with special needs.
  2. Able and willing to provide information about student language development on IEP teams. Support school psychologists with information about student language development (for example: ML student report card ML student portrait etc.)

Assessment

  1. Experience collecting and analyzing assessment data and implementation of instruction/intervention to meet identified needs.
  2. Experience facilitating grade level/content data meetings.
  3. Experience in administering district and statewide assessments - including but not limited to SBA WIDA and Star.

Leadership

  1. Recent successful high schoolteaching and/or coaching or leadership experience particularly in a Title I school.
  2. Willingness to participate in parent and instructional meetings beyond the normal school day.
  3. Current participant and a regular lead contributor to a district level committee (will be verified with Teaching and Learning)
  4. Current building leader and lead contributor to building instructional initiatives (for example: Guiding Coalition GLAD model teacher Inclusionary Practices Cohort ATP chair staff presenter)
  5. Ability to communicate well with students staff and parents - both oral and written.
  6. Evidence of motivating and instructing students of all ability levels.
  7. Demonstrated taking initiative and working collaboratively with others.
  8. Enthusiastic and displays an overall optimism toward teaching and student learning.
  9. Flexible in learning new concepts cooperates with others and adapts to a variety of assignments and conditions.

General

  1. Working knowledge of PowerSchool Schoology SeeSaw Microsoft Office Suite Google Suite and other computer applications.
  2. Punctual and consistent attendance.
  3. Able to work with interruptions while balancing daily responsibilities.

Job Description:

  1. Engage in regular coaching cycles with teachers departments and Professional Learning Teams.
  2. Partner with teachers to develop standards-based lessons and units that incorporate language development and high-yield strategies.
  3. Partner with teachers in the use of assessment to guide instruction: universal formative summative required state assessments.
  4. Lead whole staff professional learning activities focused on instruction along with follow-up with coaching cycles.
  5. Participate in the school improvement process (plan-do-study-act) with the building administrator
  6. Attend faculty and team meetings and help facilitate when needed.
  7. Provide supplementary instructional support to at-risk students (academic and behavior)
  8. Establish and maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with all staff members.
  9. Collect analyze and share data in correlation to the schools creation of universal screening.
  10. Assist in the selection of supplemental instructional materials with the approval of the building Principal.
  11. As an active member of the Tier II Intervention team review and analyze behavior data to further develop interventions to support students.
  12. Participate in parent/teacher conferences and create and maintain good relationships with parents.
  13. Provide information about student language development on IEP teams and support with the pre-referral process to gather language development data (for example: ML report card ML student portrait etc)
  14. Contribute to the identification of students who will be served under LAP identification and update regularly.
  15. Oversee Time and Effort monthly.
  16. Support staff and students as the building assessment coordinator.
  17. Attend all district trainings pertaining to the assessment coordinator position and provide corresponding training to all staff as applicable.
  18. Maintain all records according to specified timelines and LAP program requirements.
  19. Perform other duties as assigned.

Lifting:The employee must be able to lift or move up to 10 lbs. regularly and occasionally up to 26 lbs; must also be able to lift overhead. The employee may be required to physically move quickly in an emergency or while performing student supervision duties.

Physical Hazards:While performing the duties of this job the employee must be able to work outdoors in a wide variety of temperatures; from -10 degrees F to 100 degrees F . The employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in this work environment is moderate.

Application Procedure: In-District staffmust complete an internal online application by10:00 p.m. (PST) on or before the closing date.In-building/In-district staff will have eight school days or eight working days during the summer to apply for a vacant position through the online application system. The employee may choose but will not be required to meet with the building administrator to understand the building practices procedures and initiatives specific to the position to which they are applying. After eight days if an in-building employee is qualified for the position the principal will offer the employee the position. In the case that more than one in-building employee is interested in a position the position will be offered to the qualified and senior employee. If a position is not filled in-building after the eight day period the position will be offered to the qualified most senior in-district applicant if any. Teachers with a summative evaluation score of 1 or 2 are not eligible to transfer unless agreed upon by the District and Association.
