About this position:
LMCU is looking for a Commercial Lines Manager who will be responsible for leading the Commercial Lines Account Management team to ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service retention of key clients and overall team performance. This role provides technical expertise manages day-to-day operations drives staff development and identifies and implements process improvements. The Manager also serves as a liaison across departments and supports agency goals through collaboration strategic leadership and a commitment to excellence.
What youll do:
Coaching Training and Technical Oversight: Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to Commercial Lines Account Managers and new producers. Lead the development and delivery of department procedures training programs and process improvements. Ensure alignment with LMIA standards and expectations through effective communication and departmental collaboration. Oversee underwriting and agency compliance standards. Maintain a select book of VIP Commercial Lines accounts.
Team Management and Operations: Manage daily operations of the Commercial Lines Account Management team. Monitor workflows and develop audit procedures to ensure policy and procedural compliance. Oversee scheduling time-off requests and timecard approvals. Lead staffing decisions including interviewing hiring and termination. Serve as a liaison between LMIA and LMCU staff fostering positive and professional internal relationships.
Performance Management and Strategic Direction: Set departmental goals and monitor team progress toward performance metrics. Conduct performance evaluations and annual reviews for team members. Stay current on industry trends technology and agency automation to guide staff and enhance operational efficiency.
Client Service Excellence: Enhance customer service delivery and differentiate LMIA through value-added proactive service strategies. Continuously seek ways to improve client satisfaction and retention.
Carrier Relations: Foster and maintain strong relationships with insurance carriers. Represent the agency at carrier meetings and maintain effective communication with carrier representatives.
What Youll Bring: Youll like this position if you have...
Minimum of 57 years of experience in commercial property and casualty insurance with at least 23 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Demonstrated experience managing client accounts mentoring staff and leading operational improvements within an insurance agency or brokerage.
Experience working with VIP or high-value commercial clients is strongly preferred.
Bachelors degree in business insurance risk management or a related field is preferred. *Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Must hold or be willing to obtain within an agreed-upon timeframe a state Property & Casualty insurance license.
Strong technical knowledge of commercial insurance underwriting agency workflows and service best practices.
Proficiency in agency management systems and automation tools.
Ability to lead coach and develop team members effectively.
Skilled in resolving conflict and managing difficult behaviors with professionalism.
Creative proactive problem-solving ability and a high level of initiative.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Collaborative team player who supports organizational goals.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with industry changes.
