What you will do:
You will help safeguard the agencys systems by identifying compliance risks advising on security requirements and partnering with IT and leadership to ensure policies and practices align with federal and SCDOR standards.
Primary job duties include:
- Assisting with the management and assessment of access controls policies procedures and safeguards to support agency governance.
- Performing regular compliance reviews and risk assessments for internal systems vendors and partners.
- Preparing reports on privileged users system accounts and data protection activities to inform leadership and support decision-making.
- Following up with stakeholders to ensure corrective actions are taken and systems reflect the agencys current operational state.
- Supporting the development and auditing of security privacy and compliance documentation for IRS< PCI DSS and other regulatory requirements.
- Tracking documenting and reporting on security risks findings and mitigation efforts including Plans of Action and Milestones.
- Assisting in the analysis of data classification and privacy practices to ensure appropriate management of information assets.
- Coordinating the review and documentation of systems before production to ensure compliance with IRS and agency security standards.
- Recommending process improvements and identifying opportunities for automation to strengthen compliance and risk management.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A bachelors degree and relevant experience. Relevant experience or education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis with an approved equivalence by the Division of State Human Resources (DSHR).
Academic degrees must be from an accredited institution of higher learning.Preferred Qualifications
- Five years of experience in cybersecurity information security regulations NIST 800-53 standards and information security policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of applicable internal and external regulatory policies standards procedures and controls.
- Ability to understand information privacy laws policies procedures and technology.
- Ability to establish and maintain interpersonal relationships.

- Hours: Flexible hours may be available from 7:00 a.m. 6:00 p.m. Monday Friday (37.5 hours per week).
- Telework schedule: This position may be eligible to work remotely up to two days per week.
