Job Description
Local RN/Med Surg Contract Role
Location: Altoona PA 16601
Shift: 12 HR Nights 7:00 PM - 07:00 AM
Duration: 12-weeks contract
Weekly Pay: $1440 $1584
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe compassionate and competent nursing care to medical-surgical patients.
- Perform ongoing assessments develop and implement nursing care plans and document appropriately.
- Educate patients and their families on surgical procedures recovery and post-discharge care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Coordinate care with physicians other nurses and interdisciplinary team members.
- Respond quickly and effectively to changes in patient conditions or emergencies.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies procedures and infection control protocols.
- Ensure continuity of care during shift changes and transfers.
- Promote a healing environment and advocate for the needs of the patient.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Med Surg nursing experience (required).
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Pennsylvania.
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) (required).
- Strong clinical assessment critical thinking and patient education skills.
