Manager Truck Transportation and Logistics

Viterra is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to serve as Manager Truck Transportation and Logistics. This role is responsible for developing and executing strategic business plans that enhance the companys competitive edge in truck logistics by delivering exceptional service to internal and external customers optimizing costs and mitigating risk.

What youll do

  • Leads the development implementation and management of cost effective and efficient truck transportation policies and plans to execute sales and marketing programs.
  • Develops implements and manages strategic business plans for country infrastructure and grain sales.
  • Researches develops implements and manages cost-effective transportation options for commercial grain. Negotiates and manages contracts with freight suppliers.
  • Builds and manages relationships with suppliers and customers to ensure customer satisfaction adherence to contract terms and continued growth and maintenance of those strong business relationships.
  • Leads truck transportation staff through a rapidly changing business environment to become providers of logistics solutions that deliver superior financial results.
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of market trends and competitor activities in order to revise transportation strategies and programs that capitalize on identified opportunities.
  • Establishes procedures and manages transportation claims resulting from weight loss damage or other claims to ensure satisfactory dollar value settlements are achieved.
  • Resolves problems with both external and internal customers on freight utilization.

What you bring to our team

  • Graduated from a post-secondary institution with a degree.
  • Minimum of five (5) years progressively responsible transportation and logistics experience.
  • Completion of Level 3 Canadian Institute of Traffic and Transportation (CITT)
  • Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing freight movement and developing logistics plans.
  • Experience in developing negotiation strategies and in undertaking rate negotiations.
