Job Description

Are you committed to making education accessible for every student Clarifi Staffing Solutions is seeking a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join our partner school district s team for theacademic year. This is a full-time in-person opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting students with visual impairments across grade levels.

You will play a critical role in helping students build confidence access academic content and develop the skills necessary for greater independence. From customizing learning materials to delivering direct instruction in Braille and assistive technology your expertise will empower students to thrive in both academic and functional environments.

In this role you will provide individualized instruction in Braille assistive technology and orientation and mobility (if certified) while designing and implementing IEPs tailored to each student s visual and educational needs. You ll conduct Functional Vision and Learning Media Assessments adapt curriculum materials for accessibility and monitor progress to guide instruction. Collaboration with teachers service providers and families will be key to supporting inclusive practices. Additionally you ll maintain accurate documentation in compliance with special education regulations and create a structured supportive learning environment that promotes student growth and independence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor s degree in Visual Impairments or Special Education (Master s preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of Braille assistive technologies and accessible instructional materials.
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with endorsement in Visual Impairments.
  • Experience supporting students with a range of visual needs including those with additional disabilities.
