Job Description

  • Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered
  • Some experience in a mechanical shop environment

Asset:

  • Experience working in the transit industry with electrically powered transit vehicle
  • Experience working in a rail system

Skills required for success:

  • Knowledge of lubricating requirements of LRT units and related equipment
  • Skilled in the use and care of tools equipment and materials
  • Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of a high hazard shop environment
  • Knowledge of Google applications (Sheets Docs. etc.)
  • Ability to maintain records
  • Ability to work efficiently with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organization time management problem-solving and prioritization skills as well as the ability to respond quickly to changing priorities and tasks to meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal verbal and written skills and ability to understand prepare and execute oral and written instructions
  • Exhibits strong skills in collaboration teamwork and fostering a positive work environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to a strong safety culture and ability to achieve results in the context of a respectful inclusive and service-minded style
  • Alignment with the Environmental Management System Enviso
