Job Description
The Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarly Activity (URSA) is looking for Student Ambassadors! URSA student ambassadors serve as aspirational peers and as catalysts for students of all disciplines to engage with URSA. Working alongside the URSA Coordinator URSA Student Ambassadors carry out an array of activities to assist in recruitment and engagement efforts including tabling attending cohorting events creating content and communications and more. URSA is UAFs resource for the development and promotion of undergraduate research creative scholarship and experiential learning. Our office offers an annual cycle of funding to support student endeavors as well as helps students find projects to join and project mentors. URSAs Student Ambassadors help us connect to current students by promoting upcoming funding helping to plan student events and networking with prospective URSA students on campus!
To thrive in this role applicants should have a strong understanding of URSA opportunities and should be comfortable talking about their URSA experiences with students staff and faculty from all disciplines.
Minimum Qualifications:
1) Be enrolled in at least 6 UA credits.
2) Have at least a 2.3 GPA.
3) Completed at least one full academic year at UAF.
4) Completed at least one URSA funded award project.
Position Details:
This is a part-time student position as warranted due to demand (capped at 20 hours per week). Starting hourly rate is $16.00
This is a pooled position which means that the position remains open over the entire academic year.
