Job Description

Job Summary:
The Business Development Manager within the Sales Department of a manufacturing organisation is responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities expanding market share and driving revenue growth. This role involves developing and executing strategic sales plans fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives. The Business Development Manager plays a pivotal role in growing the organisations customer base and maximising profitability.

Key Accountabilities

1. Business Development

  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities target markets and potential customers.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to understand industry trends customer needs and the competitive landscape.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to penetrate new markets expand the customer base and achieve revenue targets.

2. Sales and Revenue Generation

  • Drive the sales process from lead generation to closing deals ensuring a smooth and effective sales cycle.
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline by proactively engaging with potential clients and managing sales opportunities.
  • Conduct sales presentations negotiations and contract discussions to secure new business contracts.

3. Relationship Building

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key customers strategic partners and industry stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their business requirements provide tailored solutions and address their concerns.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients building long-term partnerships and driving customer loyalty.

4. Market Analysis and Strategy

  • Analyse market trends customer preferences and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities and market positioning.
  • Develop market entry strategies pricing models and competitive differentiation strategies to gain a competitive edge.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to the sales and marketing teams for product development and market expansion.

5. Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including marketing production and research and development to align sales strategies and deliver customer-centric solutions.
  • Participate in product development discussions providing market feedback and customer insights to guide product enhancements.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth project handover order fulfilment and customer satisfaction.

6. Sales Reporting and Forecasting

  • Prepare regular sales reports forecasts and performance analyses to track progress against targets.
  • Utilise CRM software and sales analytics tools to monitor sales activities pipeline and conversion rates.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and contribute to budget planning and resource allocation decisions.

7. Networking and Industry Engagement

  • Represent the organisation at industry events conferences and trade shows to enhance brand visibility and networking opportunities.
  • Stay updated on industry trends market developments and best practices through continuous learning and professional development.
  • Build a strong professional network and actively engage in industry associations and forums.

Communication:

  • Collaborate with internal departments such as marketing production and R&D to ensure alignment on sales strategies and seamless customer service.
  • Engage with clients industry stakeholders and strategic partners to build relationships and drive business growth.
  • Responsible for decision-making within the scope of business development and sales strategies.
  • Authority to negotiate and finalise contracts in alignment with organisational policies and guidelines.

Qualifications Experience and Skills

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in business administration marketing or a related field (MBA preferred).

Preferred Experience:

  • Proven experience in business development sales or a related field within the oil and gas or petrochemical industries.

Job-Specific Skills:

  • Strong business acumen and market knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Persuasive and negotiation skills to drive sales and close deals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving sales targets and revenue goals.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and MS Office Suite.
  • Fluent in Arabic and English (both written and spoken).
  • Ability to travel as required to meet with clients and attend industry events.
