Inviting applications for the role of Principal Consultant UNIX System Administrator
We are seeking a skilled and proactive UNIX System Administrator to maintain support and optimize our UNIX-based infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in system performance tuning scripting and maintaining high availability environments. This role involves working closely with development and operations teams to ensure system reliability and efficiency
Responsibilities
Install configure and maintain UNIX (AIX Solaris HP-UX or Linux) systems and servers.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot hardware software and network issues.
Automate routine tasks using shell scripts Python Perl or other tools.
Apply patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.
Manage user accounts file systems system security and permissions.
Provide on-call support as needed and respond to critical system outages.
Maintain documentation of systems configurations and procedures.
Collaborate with developers network engineers and other IT team members to support and improve infrastructure.
Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications / Skills
MCA
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
Strong knowledge of one or more UNIX operating systems (Red Hat Solaris AIX HP-UX etc.).
Proficiency in shell scripting and automation tools.
Experience with system monitoring tools (Nagios Zabbix etc.).
Knowledge of networking fundamentals and security practices.
Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible Puppet or Chef) is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
