RN Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Permanent Role
- Location: Plano TX 75093
- Shift: 12 HR Nights 7:00 PM 7:00 AM
- Guaranteed: 36 Hours
- Compensation: Based on experience.
- Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the nursing process and according to the hospitals policies and procedures.
- Monitor assess and treat critically ill patients with cardiovascular conditions.
- Administer medications perform procedures and operate critical care equipment.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians respiratory therapists and case managers.
- Document patient care accurately and timely.
- Educate patients and families regarding ongoing care post-discharge recovery and preventative measures.
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory hospital and nursing standards.
- Deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards.
- Knowledge of nursing laws standards and local guidelines.
- Familiarity with hospital protocols and procedures.
- Proficient in medical terminology especially cardiovascular-related terms.
- Solid understanding of disease prevention medication administration and side effects.
- Respect for nursing ethics and patient privacy rights (HIPAA compliance).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with diverse patients and teams.
- Effective critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Basic computer and EMR documentation skills.
- Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program (ADN or BSN).
- RN License-active in the State of Texas.
- BLS Certification (required within 30 days of hire).
- ACLS Certification (preferred).
- Minimum 2 years of CVICU or Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPCU) RN experience.
- Prior experience in a fast-paced high-acuity unit.
