At Maryhurst our residential programs community-based homes and our outpatient clinical programs all work to serve children in the greatest need. Our residential programs break the cycle of abuse using treatments that restore hope and successfully transition children to more permanent community or family-based settings. Maryhursts community and transitional living programs offer tools that prepare survivors of abuse and neglect for better more hope-filled futures. And lastly the team at Maryhurst Renewal partners with children adults and families who are hurting to find the right combination of support ultimately clearing barriers to success at home at school and in the community. Renewal provides one-on-one group and family counseling in office home or school-based settings.


The School Direct Care Worker is responsible for assisting with the overall supervision and administration of the school program assisting the students with successful academic social and behavioral integration into the existing standard school program. The School Direct Care Worker will also assist in the dorms each morning before the school day begins.


Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Also needs to be able to work as a team member; perform basic writing communications and computer skills; function as a group leader and role model in relation to troubled youth; respond appropriately to the emotional and physical needs of adolescents within a structured group setting.

Maintain certification in Safe Crisis Management (SCM) and utilize these skills as needed to assure the safety of an individual client and the safety of the milieu. Safe Crisis Management is physical and verbal techniques that are used when a client is escalated.

Daily activity involving push pull or lift of up to 40 pounds
Experience working with Youth.

Must be at least 21 years of age

Must possess a valid state drivers license and be eligible to drive in accordance with the Maryhurst motor vehicle policy
