Position Summary

Under the direction of the Associate Director for Housing Business Operations the Housing Application & Assignments Coordinator (Coordinator) is responsible for managing the day-to-day housing license agreement application and room assignments for the on-campus housing program which houses 2200 students.

The Coordinator will assist with the housing cancellation review process and will utilize the housing management system (StarRez) and other databases daily. They will coordinate the day-to-day administration for student room assignments which includes room selection periods room assignments for term room changes and consolidation processes. The Coordinator will work with various students and families. The Coordinator is responsible for maintaining historical data and records handling sensitive information and providing data for applicable reports.

FLSA:Non-Exempt (eligible for overtime)

Anticipated Hiring Range:$4058 per month - $4707 per month commensurate with the candidates education experience skills and training.

  1. Ability to provide training and guidance to staff or student assistants as needed.
  2. Ability to perform a variety of administrative and technical/analytical duties.
  3. Experience managing and coordinating day-to-day administrative processes and operational procedures.
  4. Working knowledge of general practices and program administration University and departmental policies.
  5. Ability to apply knowledge and interpret policy in decision making and problem solving.
  6. Ability to handle multiple work projects and varied work priorities; experience setting priorities and meeting deadlines.
  7. Ability to make independent decisions and exercise sound judgement while also having the ability to work as a part of a team.
  8. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within and outside the work group.
  9. Ability to effectively handle interpersonal interactions at all levels and handle highly sensitive interpersonal situations.
  10. Ability to analyze data and make appropriate projections related to working projects.
  11. Ability to compile and present reports related to program or administrative specialty.
  12. Expertise in utilizing standard office equipment the Internet software packages (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite) and data management software.
  13. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and accurately.
  14. Commitment to maintaining a welcoming and inclusive work environment with diverse colleagues and constituents including faculty students staff and members of the community.

Work Requirements:

  1. Ability to travel within California for recruitment and yield events.
  2. Ability to work specific events that require limited early mornings nights and weekends throughout the year.
