Overview
The position of TGT (Trained Graduate Teacher) English Teacher is crucial in shaping the linguistic and communicative abilities of students in the secondary education system. This role involves not only imparting knowledge about the English language but also fostering a love for literature and creative expression. As an English Teacher you will create a positive and stimulating classroom environment that encourages students to develop critical thinking articulation and writing skills. The TGT English Teacher must also prepare students for examinations and ensure they meet the educational standards set by the school. Your role will empower students to express themselves fluently and confidently preparing them for further education and professional success. By integrating innovative teaching methods and diverse literary resources you will play a pivotal role in developing students academic foundation and their appreciation of English language and literature.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement lesson plans that align with the curriculum.
- Develop engaging and interactive learning materials for students.
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles.
- Conduct classroom activities that promote reading writing and critical analysis.
- Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments and tests.
- Provide constructive feedback to students and make recommendations for improvement.
- Facilitate discussions and encourage participation among students.
- Maintain student attendance and performance records.
- Communicate with parents regarding their childrens progress and challenges.
- Collaborate with other teachers to integrate English across the curriculum.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development workshops.
- Stay updated with the latest educational research and teaching methodologies.
- Manage classroom behavior and promote a positive learning environment.
- Encourage students to participate in extracurricular activities related to English.
- Support students with individualized learning plans as necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in English Education or a related field.
- Postgraduate degree or diploma in Education is preferred.
- Teaching certification or degree in Education.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in teaching English at a secondary level.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in the English language both spoken and written.
- Knowledge of developmental psychology and adolescent education.
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment.
- Ability to use technology effectively in the classroom.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and administration.
- Willingness to engage in continuous professional development.
- Understanding of diverse learning needs and cultural backgrounds.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment.
