The City of Winklers Communications Department plays an important role in shaping the City of Winklers public image and sharing important information across many platforms to members of the community.
What Youll Do
Reporting to the Assistant City Manager you will provide graphic design services and coordinate advertising marketing and communications campaigns with various departments within the municipality. This will include maintaining social media accounts website content digital and physical signage print materials and more.
Job Duties include but are not limited to:
- Work within the City of Winklers marketing strategy budget and brand guidelines to provide marketing services to the City.
- Coordinate all city advertising campaigns using social media pages digital signage websites print materials etc.
- Design graphic content for social media pages digital signage websites print materials etc.
- Provide regular reports to the Assistant City Manager on marketing initiatives.
- Ensure clear consistent City-wide visual identity guidelines.
- Develop consistent branded templates for use in various departments (policies social media advertising presentations etc.).
- Monitor and respond to social media posts.
- Maintain the Citys websites and content.
- Provide written communications including press releases for city events and promotions.
- Coordinate external City newsletters.
- Coordinate the purchase of promotional materials for the City.
- Attend Council Meetings and oversee the streaming of Council Meetings.
- Other relevant duties as assigned.
Qualifications Youll Need
Minimum Requirements:
- A minimum of a Grade 12 education or equivalent is required.
- Experience in graphic design and marketing.
- Training in graphic design and marketing is an asset.
- Video editing experience is an asset.
Knowledge Skills Abilities:
- Must be a team player.
- Possess good communication and organizational skills.
- Strong ability to write and speak in English.
- Experience with graphic design programs such as Adobe and Affinity
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite of programs including Outlook Word and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency in managing Facebook and Instagram accounts.
- Ability to manage websites and update content.
- Must be capable of working with minimum supervision.
Job Details
- 12-month term position ending in June/July 2026.
- 37.5 hr/week. Some evening work required.
- As a term position benefits are not included.
- Wage will be between $24.11/hr and $30.68/hr depending on experience.
