The Digital Division is accountable to operate maintain and deliver digital capabilities for all of AEMO to ensure AEMO fulfills its obligations across all jurisdictions and markets in which AEMO operates.

About the role
The Technical Systems Analyst will support the delivery of strategic programs projects and internal business needs by Product Domain teams. Stakeholder requirements are managed primarily by the projects and then it is the role of the TSA to translate these into work that can be delivered according to scope budget and time using agile methodologies. The TSA will be dedicated to a particular Product Domain team and will be the specialist TSA for that Domain.

What you will be doing

• Working within the Reserve Capacity Mechanism software development team you will:
• Undertake requirements gathering data and process mapping and modelling.
• Translate functional and non-functional requirements into Jira Features Epics and Stories technical specifications or other documentation for major projects and BAU changes.
• Work closely with technical lead and/or Principal Developers to mesh software design patterns with requirements.
• Facilitate estimation of effort and support work prioritisation and sequencing.
• Document and record findings in a way that is meaningful and understood by stakeholders.

What you will bring to the role

Education/ Certificates

• Degree in Information Systems Technology or relevant discipline.
• Certification in Agile Methodologies Business Analysis preferred.

Experience and Knowledge

• Proven experience as a Technical Business Analyst in technology teams.
• Ideally knowledge of the energy sector including both industry and regulatory matters.
• Excellent technical and analytical skills including a proven ability to quickly analyse and develop data models identify patterns business rules workflows interfaces.
• Understanding of APIs databases ideally programming/scripting experience (C# JavaScript/TypeScript SQL).
• Deep understanding of agile ways of working.
• Strong knowledge of Atlassian tools in particular JIRA and Confluence.
• Proven ability to conceptualise develop and articulate solutions and to specify functional/non-functional technical requirements.
