Title: Technical Writer Asset Management Systems (Life Sciences) - Hybrid
Location: Mesa AZ Hybrid
Duration: 6 Months with possibilities of extension and conversion to fulltime
Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
Summary:
- The main function of a Technical Writer is to write technical materials such as equipment materials appendices or operating and maintenance instructions.
- A typical technical writer is responsible for organizing editing and maintaining technical records and files.
- Technical Writer Level 2 to support the migration and integration of maintenance instructions and standard manufacturing processes into our IBM Maximo EAM (Enterprise Asset Management) system.
- This role will require working with cross-functional teams and translating technical documents (Word Excel OneNote Confluence) into structured Maximo job plans and records.
Job Responsibilities:
- Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order clarity conciseness style and terminology.
- Maintain records and files of work and revisions.
- Confer with client to establish technical specifications and to determine subject material to be developed for publication.
- Rewrite Process Instructions for new Asset Management system working with digital equipment documentation to be migrated into the Maximo EAM using current equipment binders
- Create Process instructions for newly created processes in Maximo EAM system
- Initiate and manage change requests and change orders to validate new and repaired equipment
- Serve as the main focal point for the component system including data collection data validation meeting coordination rollout execution and progress updates
- Perform risk assessments investigate nonconformance issues gap analysis and develop corrective actions
- Ensure all written materials align with company quality and FDA guidelines across all manufacturing components
- We are migrating our maintenance instructions and process instructions which we refer to as SMI.
- Some standard manufacturing processes are currently stored in what we call equipment binders - this includes specifications procedures and processes.
- These documents are being pulled out of the binders and entered into the enterprise system.
- The enterprise system is a Maximo Asset Management System.
- We are transferring our written documentation and equipment specifications into the Maximo system.
- This requires collaboration with the Engineering team Calibration team and Manufacturing team.
- Experience with Asset Management or any EAM (Enterprise Asset Management) system would be a plus.
- Oracle is our current system for specifications and equipment binders.
- Oracle has been working well for us so far.

Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in a technical field such as computer science or english journalism communications.
- High School Diploma with relevant experience.
- 2-4 years experience required.
- Experience in in creating documentation for a technical audience.
- Excellent writing editing and communication skills.
- Ability to read some programming code.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- 3 5 years of experience as a Technical Writer preferably in a regulated/life sciences or manufacturing environment more experience is fine.
- Understanding with Maximo or similar EAM/Asset Management Systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel OneNote) Confluence and documentation tools.
- Strong understanding of equipment binder specifications job plans and process instructions.
- Familiarity with FDA compliance GxP and regulated documentation standards.
- Knowledge of Oracle-based systems a plus.
- Experience with Coupa is a plus.
