Under general supervision of the Assistant Director of Prevention & Education and as a member of the Office of Equity and Compliance team the Prevention and Education Coordinator works collaboratively to support campus-wide outreach prevention and education efforts on behalf of the office. The incumbent provides support for all sexual misconduct and harassment discrimination harassment and retaliation outreach prevention and education programs and initiatives to promote a culture of care and compassion at CSUN.
- Establishes and maintains training and event request protocols for prevention awareness and education from the Office of Equity and Compliance.
- Supports the creation of reports to share program efficacy satisfaction and reach of prevention awareness and education activities with the campus community.
- Conducts outreach and awareness events and attends meetings and presentations in lieu of the Assistant Director.
- Manages and tracks a calendar of educational and awareness programs related to sexual misconduct discrimination harassment and retaliation across campus stakeholders; including all training requirements under federal and state law and CSU policy.
- Executes awareness and social norms campaigns and other office communications.
- Designs brochures infographics and other educational materials to provide to stakeholders across the campus.
- Maintains a prevention and campus programming webpage calendar and programming resource hub. Manages all Office of Equity and Compliance webpages.
- Contributes to developing and implementing request processes and protocols maintains communications and event calendars and uses output and outcome data to share the impact of the outreach prevention and education efforts.
- Manages the Office of Equity and Compliance webpages and ensures all resources events and documents remain up to date.
- The duties performed by this position involve assisting with and having access to confidential information that pertains to sensitive human resource information and/or employee relations matters representing managements position and response to systemwide collective bargaining (meeting and conferring).
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.
- Equivalent to two years of full-time progressively responsible professional/technical experience in Equity and Compliance or related area.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of federal and state laws that guide the CSU Nondiscrimination Policy; particularly Title IX. General knowledge of state and federal employment laws rules regulations and collective bargaining procedures.
- Knowledge of social media and website management.
- Excellent verbal written and visual communication skills with a working knowledge of accessible communications methods. Demonstrated ability and specialized skills to: analyze and find solutions to problems communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff faculty and others.
- Ability to work independently and plan day-to-day activities; quickly learn interpret and apply multiple complex rules regulations policies procedures and collective bargaining agreements; independently apply judgment and discretion; identify research analyze reason logically and resolve problems. Work well under pressure and in constantly changing circumstances; and interact with personnel in a highly professional manner.
- Ability to work with a population from diverse backgrounds including faculty members students staff members alumni members of the general public senior University officials and persons in senior positions outside the University. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Highly organized and able to create and implement processes and protocols that will be used by many.
Pay Benefits & Work Schedule

- Classification: Conf Admin Support / 1176 / grade 1
- The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $4600 - $5000 per month dependent upon qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is: $4261 - $8166 per month.
- HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday.
- This is a Regular position with a two years probationary period.
- The position is currently hybrid (3 days in office 2 days remote); however this is subject to change based on student and/or operational needs.
