Job Description

Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) is one of the largest school divisions in Alberta serving the education needs of approximately 17950 students in 42 schools. EIPS is recruiting a temporary part-time (0.447 FTE) Elementary Music Teacher at Wes Hosford Elementary. This position is responsible for the K-6 Music Classes as well as the Christmas Concert for Grades 1 to 3 and the Spring Concert for Grades 4 to 6.


Wes Hosford Elementary serves approximately 300 students in kindergarten to Grade 6 with 14 teaching staff and 9 support staff. The school is located in Sherwood Park AB.


Wes Hosford Elementary provides an engaging atmosphere that facilitates and supports lifelong learning and wellness. In a safe environment staff meet the diverse needs of students while modelling responsible citizenship for a global society.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Education degree
  • Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
  • Effective organization and classroom management skills
  • Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe supported and challenged
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Experience or familiarity with analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice
  • Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training
