Job Description
Overview
The Medical Officer (MBBS) plays a critical role in the healthcare system providing essential medical services offering diagnoses and developing treatment plans for patients in need. The Medical Officer will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team engaging with fellow healthcare professionals to improve patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient examinations and take detailed medical histories.
- Diagnose patient conditions and administer appropriate treatment plans.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests to inform treatment decisions.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records in compliance with legal requirements.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver integrated care.
- Educate patients about health management and disease prevention.
- Provide emergency medical interventions as necessary.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans based on clinical updates.
- Participate in continuing education and training programs.
- Serve on medical committees and contribute to policy development.
- Advocate for patient needs and coordinate referrals to specialists.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards.
- Participate in community outreach and health promotion activities.
- Supervise and mentor junior medical staff and interns.
- Engage in research activities to enhance clinical practices.
Required Qualifications
- MBBS degree from a recognized medical school.
- Valid medical license to practice medicine in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Strong understanding of medical principles ethics and legalities.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Knowledge of best practices in patient care and health promotion.
- Experience in a primary care setting is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to participate in after-hours or emergency shifts.
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage with diverse patient populations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in all practices.
- Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
