Job:
Formlabs is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager to lead a team and own a state of the art 3d printing operation. This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence fostering a culture of safety and quality and delivering strategic business goals. The Operations Manager will oversee key aspects of production management including production planning personnel development financial performance and cross-functional collaboration with a strong focus on continuous improvement. This position is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact within the dynamic and growing field of 3D printing.
Role:
- Manage an hourly labor pool and support functions including oversight resource planning hiring training and skills development. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that emphasizes safety quality and accountability.
- Oversee all aspects of production/operational processes ensuring efficient workflow adherence to schedules and high-quality output
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational metrics and prepare leadership reports
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement effective corrective and preventative actions
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies like Lean Six Sigma or other relevant frameworks
- Ensure proper maintenance and upkeep of facilities and equipment.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior production/manufacturing role.
- Experience in managing a direct hourly workforce
- Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes & principles such as 5S lean material flow safety quality management etc.
- Excellent problem-solving critical thinking and organizational skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop employees across all levels of the organization.
Bonus:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Proven ability to align and implement business strategies effectively across multiple departments.
- Demonstrated success in driving cultural transformation and organizational change.
- Familiarity with safety systems such as OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) or equivalent.
- Experience with 3D printers
