About the team
The Risk and Compliance (R&C) function has responsibility for enabling the Group to manage the risks associated with their respective area of focus in line with the Groups risk appetite. In that support the R&C function will enable the success of the business by instilling a culture of risk management as a core part of how we support our customers and ensure that we have the appropriate processes and practices to meet our compliance obligations.
About the role
As Senior Operational Risk Officer and reporting to Senior Manager Events Management you are a senior member of a team that support the business to manage operation risk effectively and ensure tasks are in line with the Banks Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF).
You will also be actively involved in coaching and mentoring team members and as a subject matter expert be an escalation point for support.
Youll get to:
- Act as a key contact for leaders across the business and support them in uplifting their risk capability
- Ensure all activities related to operational risk events are undertaken in a timely and accurate manner and in line with the Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF)
- Provide coaching and training to team members identify areas of operational process improvement and support change initiatives to uplift the team capability and efficiencies
- Work closely with divisional risk teams including Operational Risk Manager CoE and various stakeholders across the business to support and champion a strong risk culture
This is a 12-month secondment opportunity and for the right candidate open to location.
About you
To be successful you will have
- Demonstrated working knowledge of Operational Risk Frameworks including an understanding of operational risk event management
- Experience in mentoring coaching and training team members with a focus on improved capability
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to build strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders across the business
- Strong organisational and planning skills with high attention to detail
- Driven and highly motivated disposition with excellent problem-solving capabilities and continuous improvement mind set
- Tertiary qualifications in Business Finance Banking or related discipline desirable but not essential
