Job Purpose and Impact

The ER/HR Specialist plays a strategic role in supporting and advising on employee activities across multiple locations and external stakeholder groups within Australia.

Working within a small HR team you will utilise your HR knowledge and provide specialist support within industrial and employee relations covering performance management investigations and disciplinary meetings alongside management of employee data HR training and administrative duties. Ideally you will have experience in managing EBA terms and negotiations.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead investigations and disciplinary meetings with managers and employees
  • Provide expertise support in managing performance improvement cases
  • Partner with managers to align HR priorities with business objectives including engagement activities annual pay cycle and wellbeing events
  • Support with mobility requests and visa applications
  • Provide guidance on workers compensation claims and cases
  • Provide comprehensive coaching and administrative support in the day-to-day operations of the HR department
  • Skilled in managing organisational change with the ability to influence leaders
  • Lead the implementation and improvement of HR services activities
  • Interpret policies regulatory requirements and agreements; define and implement employment policies strategies and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor the internal and external employee/industrial relations environment
  • Providing coaching and training to key business groups

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in HR (or equivalent degree) preferred.
  • Experience in industrial relations and employee relations
  • Strong understanding of Australian employment laws and regulations
  • Exceptional stakeholder management with problem solving abilities
  • Demonstrated track record in taking initiative working independently and handling multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Proven ability to manage diverse complex issues
  • Experience in policy development and implementation
  • Advanced MS Office Skills and knowledge of HR systems
